Ashlee Simpson blasted by Marie Claire for being a hypocrite

Filed under: Ashlee Simpson — by celebreporter @ 4:57 pm

Singer Ashlee Simpson has reportedly been slammed by Marie Claire magazine for being a ‘hypocrite’.The US edition of the publication has attacked the sexy star for making fake claims of accepting body flaws only weeks before undergoing cosmetic surgery.

The July (06) edition of Marie Claire featured a pre-nose job Simpson saying, “Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident.”

In the time between the cover interview taking place and publication, Simpson underwent a rhinosplasty operation at a Los Angeles clinic on 21 April (06) and has since had long blonde hair extensions. But, once the interview was published, the magazine received the wrath of over 1,000 readers, who wrote to it in protest. Since then Simpson has been featured on dozens of internet blogs, being lambasted as a ‘hypocrite’.

“We’re dazed and confused – and disappointed – by her choice, too,” Contactmusic quoted new editor Joanne Coles as writing in the September (06) issue of the magazine
